Welcome to the Rob on Holiday blog! Whether you’re a fan of our YouTube channel or you’ve never heard of us before, we’re thrilled to have you here. After years of sharing our travel adventures through our videos, we decided to start this blog to provide more in-depth travel tips and stories in written form.

About Me
I’m Rob, a software engineer in my fifties living in Manchester with my wife and two daughters. Besides my love for travel, I enjoy reading, music, and exploring new cultures. Our family adventures inspire the content we share, and we love discovering new places together. Some of my favourite destinations so far include Seville, Rome, and Copenhagen.
How I Became Rob on Holiday
Well, it all started eight years ago when I made a video about a typical day at our favourite hotel in Spain, the Golden Taurus Aquapark. Initially, it was just a fun way to show our friends and family what we loved about the place but, after uploading it to YouTube, it was a hit with the other hotel guests, garnering more views than we ever imagined. This success inspired me to make a new video at the hotel every year, with each one becoming increasingly elaborate.
In 2018, we went on our first city break to Seville. And, as we grew more confident in the art of weekend getaways, we decided to start making videos to share our tips and experiences with fellow travellers. And so, Rob on Holiday was born.

What Content Will We Be Posting?
Much like our videos, this blog will focus on three main travel areas: European city breaks, Disney parks, and UK travel.
European City Breaks: We’ll share weekend getaway tips for the most popular cities across Europe. Whether it’s exploring the most popular attractions, discovering hidden gems, or navigating public transport, we aim to make your city break experience as enjoyable as possible.
Disney Parks: As Disney enthusiasts with over 20 years of experience visiting Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World, we’ve got plenty of tips to help you make the most of your Disney trips. From reducing wait times and picking the best attractions to finding the tastiest snacks and choosing the right hotels, we’ve got you covered.
UK Travel: We love travelling, but we also love showing off some of the great things to do closer to home. So, our blog will also highlight family-friendly days out in the North West and beyond. We’ll cover everything from nature walks to historical sites, providing plenty of inspiration for exploring the UK.
Thanks for checking out our first blog post! We hope you’ll find our tips and stories helpful when planning your own trips. We’d love it if you’d like to join us on this journey, so don’t forget to like this post and follow the blog for updates.
